“Opening Minds, Changing Hearts”
Ten for Ten Campaign

Dear Colleague,

Each year the UPCEA Mid-Atlantic Region selects a service project to make a positive impact in the area of the host institution.

For 2011, the Conference Planning Committee has selected La Salle Academy, an independent, private grade school dedicated to educating children in grades 3 through 8 whose life opportunities are limited by financial, academic or social challenges. Parents or guardians of these students desire a Catholic education, but cannot afford it. In order to serve these children, the Academy has an ongoing need for school supplies, furniture, and even clothing for some students.

This year, the UPCEA Mid-Atlantic region felt the need to assist with the School’s efforts by buying Target gift cards so they may purchase the items they so desperately need.

We're asking you to serve as an “Opening Minds, Changing Hearts” fundraiser by joining our “Ten for Ten” campaign. Ask 10 people for $10 to help underprivileged children in West Kensington/North Philadelphia receive the education they deserve. And of course, you are welcome to collect more than the suggested $10 from each donor.

Once you have collected funds, we ask that you visit your nearest Target and purchase a gift card for the School (FIND A STORE). If you are unable to make it to a store, your contributions (check only) will be collected at the conference*. Please make sure it is contained in a sealed envelope. Collection bins can be found at the registration and information desks at the conference.

Be sure to ask your colleagues, family members and friends to support us in our “Ten for Ten” campaign. Your efforts will help provide a better education for a child.

Sincerely,

Joseph Ugras
Chair, UPCEA Mid-Atlantic Conference

*Target gift cards are preferred; checks made payable to “La Salle Academy” will also be accepted.
